Richard L. Miller is a partner of the law firm of Monshower, Miller & Magrogan, LLP, located in Ellicott City, Maryland. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1982 with a B.S. degree in marketing. Richard received his J.D. degree in 1985 from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he served as a member of the Law Review. Richard was an attorney with the firm McGuire, Woods, LLP prior to joining Monshower, Miller & Magrogan, LLP in 1992.
Richard’s practice is devoted primarily to civil litigation, contract and real estate brokerage law, business torts, and disputes involving real estate loan transactions. He practices in Maryland and the District of Columbia and represents real estate and other professionals, including title companies, abstractors, appraisers, community associations, property managers and real estate licensees, in various matters before ethics panels, administrative agencies and in state and federal courts. In addition, Richard has served as a court-appointed mediator in numerous civil disputes.
For over ten years, Richard was a faculty member and instructor for the Maryland Graduate Realtors Institute (GRI) program. From 1988 to 2003, Richard served as general counsel for The Development Corporation of Northwest Baltimore, a non-profit community organization. He is admitted to practice before all Courts of the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia, as well as the United States District Court and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland and the District of Columbia. Richard is also admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is currently a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar Association.
